Marathi cinema refers to Indian films produced in Marathi, the language of the state of Maharashtra, India. Based in old Mumbai, it is the oldest and one of the pioneer film industries of India. Marathi Film Festival 2019 outdoes the trends it set last year and brings to its audiences an excitingly eclectic mix of films and artists from the Marathi Film Industry this year. The festival will offer lots of film talk and a brilliant film viewing.

Wedding Cha Shinema ( 135 minutes)

Synopsis - 

An aspiring filmmaker from Mumbai reluctantly takes up the assignment of filming the wedding festivities in a small town in western Maharashtra. Once she gets there, she is drawn into the celebration, chaos and drama surrounding the family gathering. At the end of the crazy ride, both the big city filmmaker and the small town folks may have something to learn from each other.

Synopsis - 

* Winner of 65th National Award for best Feature Film.

A group of children in a Pune housing society decides to perform a play on environmental conservation as part of Ganeshotsav celebrations, featuring prophets and historical figures of various religions and ethnicities. This does not go down well with local politicians, who disrupt their practice and threaten them with dire consequences. While the scared parents sit around debating the validity of the situation, the kids take matters into their own hands to solve the matter. Dhappa tries to question the religious boundaries people have created through the innocence of children.

Synopsis - 

There are dreams that are larger than life, one of such dreams that has mesmerised countless youngsters today is 'Stardom' and in the age where everything is instant and fleeting. With this dream, two youngsters- Mithun (Abhinay Berde) from Solapur and Munni (Kashmira Pardesi) from Kolhapur come to Mumbai. This amusing journey teaches them to work harder and hustle for an 'All-time hit' rather than a 'One time hit'.
